FOR THE PATIENT
1. What is an ECG test?
An ECG test gives a picture of how your heart is working.
2. What purpose does a mobile apparatus serve for the patient?
A mobile apparatus ensures your safety. It enables you to be in the regular care of a specialist – you can at any place and time do a test which will automatically be sent to the specialist. That way the doctor can immediately verify your state of health and react without delay!
3. When and how can I do an ECG test?
You can do a test at any given moment. If you start feeling any change in how your heart works, pain, breathing difficulties etc., stand still and press the button with the heart on it, which will start registering how your heart works – an ECG. While this is happening, try to restrict your movements so as not to disturb what is being recorded.
4. How can I prepare my body to have electrodes placed on it?
Before the electrodes are applied, you must carefully wash and degrease your skin, shave off any hairs and dry the area.
5. Where should I place the electrodes on my body?
Where you affix the electrodes is very important, so you must absolutely follow the doctor’s instructions in this respect. Electrodes must not be moved without the doctor’s knowledge and consent, as this can cause changes to appear in the ECG record. You will find a diagram for sticking on electrodes and the meaning of colour markings in the operation manual of your apparatus.
6. How can I affix the electrodes to my body?
Attach the cable ends to the electrodes before sticking them onto your body. This is vital to achieve a top-quality ECG record. Stick the electrodes onto your body following the doctor’s instructions (see the operation manual diagram).
7. Where should the apparatus for performing the test be?
Put the apparatus into a pocket of your clothing, affix it to your belt or put on your belt with the apparatus in such a way that you will have easy access to the ECG button enabling the ECG test to be done.
8. Can I do sport with the teleEKG apparatus?
Yes. Take care to distribute the lead wires in such a way that they don’t hinder your movements. If you are planning to do an ECG during great physical activity, we also advise sticking the ends of the wires of the electrode cable to your body with aseptic plasters, so that the quality of the ECG record will always be optimal.
